Easter Park Picnic
When it comes to Easter, I love celebrating with a low-key lunch. When we plan to start earlier in the day, we have more time to enjoy the sunshine, egg hunts, bible games and family time.
Why an Easter Picnic? Because Why Not!
What better way to embrace the season than by hanging out in the park with a decorated table or an Easter spread on a blanket!? There’s something about being outside when the flowers are blooming, the grass is green, and everyone’s feeling a little more relaxed that makes it extra special.
Plus, it’s a chance to take a break from all the usual Easter traditions—no need for stuffy clothes or cooking a five-course meal. Just throw on your favorite spring outfit, grab your loved ones, and head to your local park for a day of sunshine and fun.
Packing For a Successful Picnic
Packing up for your Easter picnic doesn’t have to be a major ordeal. Keep it simple, and focus on what’s going to keep everyone fed, happy, and entertained. Here’s what I packed…
Lunch Boxes
I made everyone their own lunch box! This was so fun for me, not gonna lie. I loved the personal tag and it was honestly so easy to transport. My boxes included chicken salad, pasta salad, fruit salad, classic chips, a cheese wedge, mini croissant, and a spring tulip sugar cookie.Drinks
We packed up a cooler with water, and fruity drinks to cheers with. If you’re going to a park, be sure to check their container rules.Blankets, Pillows, Chairs
A cozy blanket is a must, so you’ve got somewhere comfy to kick back. We have a couple outdoor ones that worked great, like this one or this one.Games and Good Times
Easter egg hunts are a classic, and Jonah has always loved them so much! I just hid a bunch of colorful plastic eggs around the park and let him do his thing. We also brought a frisbee, a football, some cards and a board game. Our family loves music, so we always have our speaker with us too.A Little Bit of Magic
It doesn’t take much to make a celebration a little more special with simple decor. I brought my own bouquet, a table cover, some bunnies and carrots, and an egg carton charcuterie to make it more fun. Praying over our food and this pretty table, with a beautiful mountain backdrop, and a gratitude for the celebration that is Easter…was just special!
For the lunches, I used craft boxes like these. I used disposable containers for the salads and mini kraft bags for the chips and croissants. I closed them, and decorated the cutlery, with washi tape. After I closed them, I wrapped them with twine and clipped a name tag on with a mini clothes-pin. So cute!
Check out this egg carton charcuterie! I’m obsessed…
and the lunch box was the perfect choice! This is the chicken salad recipe I used…
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter celebration, and get a little inspiration from our picnic!
