Getting Kids To Unplug This Summer + FREE Rules And Chore Printable Set

THUMBNAIL- SUMMER RULES SET.png

So, summer officially started in our house about 2 weeks ago.  The last thing I wanted was for the kids to spend all day on their phones, tablets or play-station.  My little guy and I have a routine down so that I can work during the day as well.  Now that the big kids are home, I knew I needed to make a list of summer rules so that we could all stay on track.

Thinking back- we had it so good, right!?  Free from social media, selfie obsession and all that pressure!  I spent summers on the river, hanging out with friends and family, cooking out, crafting- engaging and making memories.  I just want my kids to do the same.  Not be locked in on a screen all day, wasting away their summer.

For days when everyone is home, and you aren't out running errands or at an activity, this cute printable will help hold everyone accountable for how they spend their day.  This routine takes up most of our morning, and also allows me to help my little one with his pre-school.  By the time we finished with lunch and cleaned up- everyone can chill out for a little bit, enjoy a little screen time and I can get some work in.

I have used many chore charts in my day, but this method seems to work best in our casa.  Simply use a 2" circle punch, and fill up a jar with all the chores that work for your family.  I have my oldest kids choose 2 chores to complete for the day.  If they choose something that doesn't apply for that day, just choose another :)
